Hywax GmbH is part of the international AWAX Group with around 700 employees. Around 310 employees and 17 trainees produce a wide range of mineral oil and synthetic-based kerosene waxes, wax emulsions and petroleum jelly at the site in the port of Hamburg. Further emulsion plants are located in Linz, Austria and Birkenhead, UK. Our products are used worldwide in a wide range of processing industries, for example in hot-melt adhesives, paper and packaging, paints and coatings, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, wood-based materials, candles and road construction.

Your Tasks

As a Digital Manufacturing Engineer, your main task will be to develop, maintain and implement digital solutions for our company in connection with our MES system in order to provide the best possible support for our production sites in Germany, Austria and the UK. You will add value by being responsible for improving and digitizing work processes, introducing new tools and building the skills of our employees.

Your main tasks will be:

Design, develop, maintain, and deliver digital solutions in MES and Historian
Carry out process, workflow and data analyses
Continuous improvement processes and standard processes (OEE etc.) on sites by visualizing and providing real-time plant data
Work with colleagues at production sites to better understand their requirements, gain input and feedback
Take ownership of the tasks and deliver the expected developments
Estimate the effort necessary to deliver a solution and help plan the next steps
Continuous improvement on existing solutions based on user feedback
Help answer questions from sites and ensure change management through coaching and training of the local users
Help create user guides and deliver training

Your Qualifications and Strengths

You have a bachelor's degree with 4+ years' experience or a master's degree with 2+ years' in (chemical) engineering, data analytics or similar.
Use your programming skills in Angular, Phyton or C# to maintain and continuously develop our MES system and our databases (SQL).
You have experience in project work, ideally in agile project environment in the field of chemical industry.
New challenges are motivating you and you approach them in a solution-oriented way. Your attentive, reliable and structured way of working also supports you in completing your tasks as well as your cross-departmental thinking.
You have a good knowledge of MS Power BI / SQL Server Reporting Services and SAP / MES / PLS.
You can rely on your fluent German (B1/ B2) and good English skills written and spoken – for exchanges in an international environment.
